What We Do

Since 1988, FORTAS has developed programs that improve the quality of life of communities in extreme poverty (found mainly in rural areas.) Every action taken by FORTAS seeks to strengthen the community’s organizational, implementation, execution, and managerial capacities in projects to ensure their sustainability over time.

Mission
To be responsible for FUSADES’ social actions by contributing to the elimination of poverty in El Salvador.

General Objective

  • To contribute to improving the quality of life of El Salvador’s rural communities in extreme poverty.
Specific Objectives
  • To strengthen people’s capacities and make them self-sufficient so they can meet their basic needs.
  • To take action to assist poor communities in the areas of education, health, water, rural connectivity and productivity, through an honest, transparent and efficient use of resources from donors.
FORTAS facilitates and integrates efforts and multiplies actions that lead to improvements in the quality of life in impoverished communities.
